Jessica Simpson is having a very good year. As the singer/actress turned 30, her life is on a major upswing; she recently got engaged to former NFL player Eric Johnson, and now news has broke that her fashion line is expected to have earned $1 billion by early 2011!
Simpson's line, which began five years ago with a perky collection of shoes, has since expanded and now includes sportswear, denim, swimsuits, watches, fragrances and more.
So, what is it about Simpson's goods that set her apart from the dozens of other celebs out there with a clothing line?
Well, it's her "girl next door qualities," Vince Camuto, CEO of Camuto Group, which licenses the starlet's products, told Women's Wear Daily. "People look at her as a style icon."
With her highly-publicized weight struggles and former tough luck love life, women seem to be able to relate to Simpson. At a recent in-store appearance, 600 fans lined up to meet her to Price of Beauty star. Her jeans are sold in more than 650 department stores. And her net worth is "estimated at $100 million."
