Terri Schuester split with her hubby towards the end of the first season of "Glee." With the hit Fox show now in its second season — and Terri desperately trying to entice Will Schuester to return to her embrace — the actress who plays Terri is undergoing a real-life divorce of her own.

Jessalyn Gilsig has filed for divorce from Bobby Salomon, a television and movie producer, according to TMZ. She cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split.

Gilsig and Salomon were prom dates in Montreal and have been married for almost five years. Gilsig states in the divorce filing, made in L.A. County Superior Court, that the two have been separated for almost a year. They plan to settle their divorce privately and "will divide all community assets and obligations." The couple has one child, a 4-year-old daughter, and a custody arrangement will be part of their divorce proceedings.

Before she began her turn on "Glee," Gilsig was a series regular on "Boston Public." She's also appeared in multiple-episode arcs on "NYPD Blue," "Friday Night Lights" and "Heroes." Recent screen credits include two low-profile horror films, "Prom Night" with Brittany Snow and "The Stepfather" with Penn Badgley and Amber Heard.

Terri, meanwhile, has become a polarizing presence on "Glee," with many fans calling her the least likable character on the show. As Ken Tucker wrote for Entertainment Weekly last year, "I watch 'Glee' and feel sorry for Jessalyn Gilsig. I'll bet the actress didn't initially sign on to have her character Terri become a shrill, lying nag whose main function is to bring husband Will — and by extension, us — down."
